Being a fan of James Bond films isn't a new thing, but it's definitely my thing. When Casino Royal was released (for the second time), it blew me away. It had action like no Bond film I'd ever seen. The traditional opening super stunt was replaced with a 20 minute, exhausting sprint through a construction site that kept me on the edge of my seat. So when I discovered the Casino Chips and the Million Dollar Plaque for sale on ebay for cheap. I just had to put together a display.
Knowing that the chips and plaque were a bit thicker than picture paper, I picked up 2 different colors of Mat Board. The first, and most obvious was the Poker Table Green mat board. The other was suitably a gold color. Cutting the Mat Board was a new skill I had to learn to get this right.
As you can see above, I had to create a double stack of Mat Board to allow for the extra depth. And it "had" to be straight and accurate cuts. Yay for second (and 3rd, 4th, etc.) chances.
The Idea I had for this display was to lay out the final winning hand that James Bond and Le Chiffre would play.
I made replica cards and added their signatures to each of the Aces (I found on the internet).
I had a final layer of Mat Board of Fau Leather to frame the display.
Before finally encasing it behind glass.
Note the black and white card stating that it is in fact a "Replica". As well as the information on the movie behind the Props.
